Juneau

We did one of the best things ever today -- flew on a helicopter to the Herbert Glacier. It was simply unbelievable. The pictures we've seen of glaciers just don't do justice to the colors and textures of the real thing. We were in awe and still are, several hours later, when we think about what we saw. So far, it is the highlight of our trip, hands down. Now for more about our day in Juneau, here's Bill . . .

First thing I want to tell you about is the best water in the world. We filled a bottle with fresh water running in a small stream on the glacier and it is the best water we ever tasted. As a matter of fact I still have a half bottle of the water I'm going to put on ebay for $500 an ounce. So get your bids in early!

After our helicopter ride we had to have a drink in the Red Dog Saloon. Recommended by our drinking friend Linda (Taki's mom). Linda, the Alaskan beer was great!

Next we strolled up to the house where our next Vice President lives now, the Alaskan Governor's mansion. We knocked on the door and the butler said she was out of town at some convention! Go figure, I guess she didn't know we would be calling on her. The house is really nice with a large totem pole out front. Just like most of the houses we have seen lately. I guess I will have to get one for our place in Antioch. It will blend in with the rap music and pinatas. Oh life is goooood!
