It's a small, small world

Wow we made it through the Galapagos and on to Peru via Guayaquil Ecuador  for one night and Lima Peru the next night.
This was the first time in my life that I took a zodiac boat to catch an airport shuttle but here we are and there is the shuttle waiting for us.

We flew from the Galapagos to Guayaquil about an hour and forty minute flight.  Once we reached Guayaquil we did the obligatory bus tour of the city.  You know how that goes; here is our church(s), our government buildings, our museum, blah, blah, blah! We have great photos of churches that we don't remember the name of, buildings that may be a museum or government building, and so on and so forth.  I do have one photo that may interest you.  It is of a city park in Guayaquil.
This park is called Iguana Park by the locals. I don't know how they came up with that name?!! There are hundreds of iguanas all over this park.
In the trees

On the lawn
And on the park benches.
You  just have to watch out when you walk under the trees, You never know what's going to drop out of them.

The next morning we were up and on the road to the airport by 5AM to catch our flight to Lima Peru. Since it was an international flight it took us a long time to go through customs and immigration. It took so long that we really had to hustle to make our flight,  We arrived in Lima and got to our hotel at 9:30AM. Our rooms were not ready and everyone on the tour except us signed up for an optional tour to see some dancing horses (right down my alley).  Since our room wasn't ready and the rest of the group were getting ready to go see the dancing horses we decided to go exploring around our hotel and the first thing Cindy finds is

Oh yeah you guessed it.  They are getting like the golden arches; everywhere!

The hotel offered a free shuttle to take us to Miraflores area of Lima. That is right along the coast with great views and plenty of shopping (which we love to do, right). We did find something to do.
We rented bikes and rode on a great trail that went up and down the coast.  As we were zooming down a part of the trail Cindy says;" I think we just passed a woman who is in my yoga class" back where we live in California.  Okay she knew the woman was going to be in Lima around the same time we were going to be there but come on, there are 10 million people in the city of Lima.  Well we turned around and went back and sure enough it was the woman (Sharon and her husband). Like I said it's a small, small world!

On thing different about Lima along the freeways companies advertise on the side of the road using shrubs to spell out their advertisements.

Well it's an early flight and off to Cuzco and Machu Picchu tomorrow.
