Good Bye Yellowstone, Hello Idaho

After four fantastic days in Yellowstone, sadly it was time to leave. The Romios group headed to Bozeman for their flight home, while Peggy, Verne & Vernie left for the direct route back to CA. The rest of us -- Melanie, Maile, Mason, Kira, Bill & I -- headed west to Idaho. Melanie wanted to show her kids Bruneau Dunes State Park, which we visited when we lived in Boise. We have many happy memories of camping there with our dog Tater, who would race back and forth while we all traipsed up and down the huge sand dunes. Well, Bruneau Dunes didn't disappoint!

When we climbed to the top, we posed to say "HEY" to Bill, who was the designated photographer.

As you can see in the photos below, the kids were very happy to have the opportunity to stretch their legs after the long drive!

From there, we only had another hour or so to Boise, where we'd be spending the night. We decided to drive by B S U to see if the beautiful campus could entice one (or more) of the kids to consider attending school there!

Melanie found a great restaurant for our dinner in downtown Boise, which has become a very attractive, vibrant area. The next morning, we had one more stop before heading back home to CA. We couldn't resist driving by the house where we had lived from 1986-89. It still looked good!
