We were once again in the company of Connie and Frank, who drove over from their home near Palm Springs to join us at a timeshare in Brian Head, Utah. The elevation of our condo was over 9600 feet, and we were joking that the resort needed to supply oxygen for the guests to be truly comfortable! One consequence of the altitude was COOL weather . . . which was okay with the 4 of us since we were looking to escape the summertime heat of our hometowns. On 2 of the days, we actually experienced snow flurries in Brian Head! Here's a shot of the light snow that fell overnight last weekend at the resort. At each of the parks, we went on some fantastic hikes, varying between 1 mile and 5.4 miles in length. The first photo shows part of the Navajo Loop Trail in Bryce Canyon, our favorite hike of the week. Notice the switchbacks leading us down into the canyon. (Of course, what goes down must come up, so we were huffing pretty hard by the time we finished this one!)
The next shot shows Connie, Frank & Bill at the Court of the Patriarchs overlook in Zion.

We're Speechless
We just got back from a week in southwestern Utah and the unbelievable scenery of the National Parks there: Bryce Canyon, Zion, and Cedar Breaks. The rock formations left us speechless.
