Our first port of call in Alaska and the wild animals were everywhere. Some of them so tame you could get right up next to them and take photos of them. See the eagles moose and bear below.
These are two of many many eagles that we saw. They were waiting for the tide to go out so they could feast on some salmon for dinner.
Verne and Bill hanging out with the local moose after a long day of whitewater rafting.
We couldn’t BEAR shopping anymore! This bear just had lunch and was stuffed.
Cindy and Peggy
Earlier in the day the four of us went out to Mendenhall Glacier and took a whitewater raft trip. It started in Mendenhall Lake. You can see the glacier in the background.
Here we are avoiding some of the small icebergs that were in the lake.
And this is us coming through some of the class three rapids.
We stopped by the governor’s residence to see if anyone was home but I guess he was out fishing.
So we headed back to the ship to get some rest before our next adventure.

The pic of the eagles is SO cool! It really shows how HUGE they are! Kiwi liked looking at it. And Maile informed me that the bald eagle is NOT the biggest bird- it is the condor. :)
Jealous of the white water rafting. GREAT PIC!!
And also so glad to see Peggy in so many photos!!
