As I mentioned in Part 1, on Tuesday we stopped in Nassau where we did something extraordinary, the ‘Dolphin Experience’ at the Blue Lagoon. All of us walked from the Dream to another dock area where we boarded a ferry-type boat to take us on the 40-minute ride to the Blue Lagoon. Bill, Sandy, Peggy and Verne chose to be observers, which enabled them to take photos while the rest of us got to pet, hug, kiss, and feel the teeth ( yes, really!) of the dolphin. When we first entered the dolphin area, we were introduced to our new dolphin friend, Cacique (pronounced kuh SEEK), who welcomed us with a big splash. Such a joker, that Cacique!
L-R: Heather, Olive, Vernie, Maile, Mason, Taki, Nikos, Cindy, Kira, Melanie, Linda
From there, we moved onto a submerged platform and posed for group shots with Cacique first kissing Maile, then Nikos.
You may be able to tell that even though dolphins are gentle, they appear to be huge and intimidating to little kids. Poor Olive never did warm up to him.
We each had a chance to dance with and feed Cacique.
Melanie and Heather feelin’ the rhythm with their dolphin partner.
Maile, Mason, and Taki & Nikos dance to a slower beat.
Linda, then Vernie & Kira, feed Cacique.
We had some excitement while waiting for the shuttle boat to take us back to the Dream. Somehow one of Kira’s flip flops ended up in the dolphin enclosure! Luckily an attendant fished it out with a net. I have a feeling hers wasn’t the first flop to end up there!

Loved the dolphin pictures.. I am doing the same thing with dolphins on our cruise this summer. I can't wait; I've never gotten to do it before!!
