Sunday night we went back over to Balloon Fiesta Park for the “Glow” and the fireworks. We got to the park around 5:00 and started by visiting the food booths. They have every kind of junk food you can imagine and we decided to try the green chili cheeseburgers (very good!) followed by ‘cinna-cones’ which are warm cinnamon rolls served in paper cones to be eaten with forks. De-e-e-licious!!!
As the sun started to set, the balloonists began inflating their balloons for the main event for the evening, the Glow. Once again, we were able to wander around the field amongst all the action. The basket starts out on its side, pointing towards the balloon which is laid out on the ground. The flame shoots hot air into the balloon until both the balloon and the basket are upright. Bill captured some shots of this balloon being inflated.
As darkness fell, the fully inflated, tethered balloons glowed as the flames below them were lit.
Since not all of the balloons were lit at the same time, it was almost as if they were twinkling – a truly incredible sight!

I agree, the Glow, is a really neat thing to see. I have only seen it at the local show (only a few balloons) but I bet it was fantastic in New Mexico with all of the balloons at that show!!
