From Ski to Sea

Wow, last week we were in Tahoe skiing down the mountains and this week we are in Maui snorkeling and watching the whales breach out of the water!  We left San Francisco Friday morning and flew to Maui but before we left I hired my security group to keep watch over our house while we are gone.  I have a photo of them taking a much needed break before another rigorous patrol around the house.

Can’t complain they work for peanuts.

We managed to slip out of town before Baby heard we were coming to Hawaii. Heather sent us this photo and wrote “Baby was so upset that she didn’t get to go to Hawaii that she lost her head!” (Last year she spent time with us in Kauai after Olive left for home – click here in case you missed it.)

The weather here has been really nice, high 70’s and low 80’s with plenty of sun and a few passing clouds.  We are staying at the Marriott Maui Ocean Club and have a fantastic island view from our lanai.

We have seen a few whales but haven’t got a good photo to share.  We hope to get some good ones so we can post them on the blog. In other big news, below are some photos of improvements made here at the Marriott.

Yes, that’s right, a full fledged Starbucks right on the Marriott property!  They converted part of their convenience store into a Starbucks and…

Hope you guys have a great time! I know I did in FL -- now that I'm home a week it feels like I was never there!! Can't wait to see the pics of the whales! And, the big question, what happen to Baby?! Olive doesn't look too upset -- which is good!!
