Finally Fall?

Today Bill and I didn’t have a specific tour planned for our visit to Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. Since we were docked right next to downtown Charlottetown, we were able to walk right off the ship and into the small city. The attractive city block below is only about three blocks from the ship.

There were many nice features in Charlottetown, including a pedestrian street with a fountain spraying up through a manhole. I’m sure kids have a fun time running through the water on a hot day here. (It may be a little hard to see, but the fountain is about halfway down this block, right in the middle of the street.)

When Bill got tired of listening to me talk, I sat on a bench and chatted with one of the town fathers and he never once complained!

We finally saw a tiny bit of fall color. For the most part, we’re too early to see the foliage display we’d been hoping for.

Today was cloudy and much cooler than the previous days on our trip, but maybe the cooler temperatures will help the leaves change color as we move on into Quebec. We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
