This Town is Made for Walkin’

Well, they say Quebec is a very walkable city. Judging by the totals on my pedometer the past 4 days, they’re right! Sunday: 7.94 miles; Monday: 10.33 miles; Tuesday: 5.92 miles; today: 5.68 miles. These totals include lots of hills and steps, too! Quebec City is divided into Upper Town and Lower Town and that is a literal description.

There’s a funicular for those who don’t feel like taking the stairs between Upper and Lower.

Armed with our Frommer’s guidebook, we set out on a couple of walking tours which covered most of this enchanting city. Quebec is the only walled city in North America.
