We had to get to the top of he mountain to get to the museum. We decided to take the funicular up to save some time. Once we got on the top we had to walk down to the museum, go figure!
Cindy is standing by the set of steps we had to take down to the museum.
This hospital was open in 1938 and used extensively through WWII, the Hungarian revolution in 1956 and converted to a nuclear fallout shelter in 1962. It was open until 1989, then closed and opened recently as a museum. It is made from natural caves throughout the mountain. The hospital takes up about one kilometer of the ten kilometer of caves.
Okay so much for museums, churches and buildings. Let me show you some other things. Such as the hazards of open air tour bus rides.
First the threat of rain after you invested $50 for the tour.
Then there is the guy who is always screwing up your great photo shot.
You always have to keep your eyes open for low hanging branches.
Oh yes and the low bridges. One false move here and you are going to have one heck of a headache. That's if you still have a head.
You do get to see some great signs. I wonder what is in the gum to make you happy. I didn't get a photo of the donut library and coffee shop. I guess you just check out the donuts for a week or two!
Don't forget you can stop into the sex shop or wander down to the McDonald's to feed one of your appetites.
You can always find the unusual lamp posts when you are up high.
I thought our busdriver made a wrong turn when I saw the Las Vegas casino.
