Our plans were to walk around Warsaw and observe what the locals do on a Saturday morning. Our first observation is that they close off one of the streets and set up ping pong tables for anyone who wants to play.
They run around in costumes that look like numbers to advertise the lotto and how much it is worth.
They hang up their umbrellas to dry or decorate or whatever?
We saw the only palm tree in Northern Europe!
Of course it is plastic and imported from the USA at a cost of $120,000. No other city in Northern Europe has one! :-)
Did I mention we turned it into a mini food tour.
No we didn't stop here.
We did stop here. It is suppose to have the best ice cream in Warsaw. And it was 11:30AM, just the right time for ice cream just before lunch. The ice cream was good, only one scoop though, we were on a food tour.
We didn't stop here
nor here.
We did stop here. This is the oldest bakery in Warsaw. We sampled some of their pastry. It received our stamp of approval. Mine had fruit on top so I got one serving of fruit so far today. :-)
Can't think of anything more fun than a good protest on Saturday.
We think it had something to do with the medical profession. Probably they need more money!
Along with a good protest you always need a strong showing of law enforcement.
With all that food sometimes you just have to...
After the air cleared we went further into old town and found these benches.

There are 12 of these benches throughout old town. You press the play button and it plays one of Chopin's compositions.
We have an early flight tomorrow, so we wanted to stay by the airport.
This is the view from our room at the Marriott Courtyard. We have a short commute tomorrow. We only have an hour layover in London Heathrow airport. We are hoping that will give us enough time to make our flight to San Francisco.
Instead of taking a cab to the airport we took Uber and the total cost was $6.81. That is less than half price of a taxi from our hotel in the city. By the way, getting back to our food tour -- we did walk over six miles during our tour. I think that wore off those caleries we took in.
