The Hills are Alive with The Sound of Music

Back to Salzburg to hear the music in the hills!
I didn't hear a darn note, must be those cheap hearing aid batteries.  I'm taking them back to Costco.
No hiking today.  This is how we got up the mountain to -- you guessed it -- another castle. We got some great views of Salzburg.
This is looking from inside the castle at the castle walls and the city below.
This is another photo of the city below with a bunch of people I don't know.

We did find some great ideas for when we have the grandkids over!
This chair will work great to keep them at the table so they finish their dinner.
This will be a good place for them before bedtime.  Don't worry we will give them shoes to shine to keep them busy while they are sitting there.
I tried my hand at marionettes, got pretty good and next week I'm helping out with the production below.
Cindy also wanted to try. So they sent her over to a special door to get her character.
She started out well but
In the end she just couldn't get the knack of it.

Okay you are saying I thought this was about the sound of music?  Hold on, I'm getting to that.
Here we are in front of the house that was used in the film as the von Trapp family home with the lake in the front where Maria and all the kids fell out of the boat.
This is the gazabo where one of the songs was sung. (16 going on 17) I think we really add a lot to this photo!
This is the church where the wedding took place.
So much sight seeing we had to stop for strudel and ice cream. On with the tour.
These are the steps where they sang the song do, re, mi in the movie.
This is the bad knome used in the movie (the one on the left). I could tell what you were thinking.
The tours are over and now it is time for dinner by the river.  We have another beautiful view to enjoy our meal.

As we head to the bus stop we see this pedestrian bridge filled with love locks. This happened in Paris and the extra weight from the locks threatened the integrity of the bridge so they had to be removed.  Maybe we will hear about them doing it to this bridge in the near future!
