We checked into the Mercure hotel right in downtown Vienna.
This is the alley way leading into our hotel. It's a really nice old small hotel. We were scheduled to leave for our dinner at 5PM. Our tour director, Bethany said we were going to a unique restaurant outside the city.
She was right. When we got there they stopped the traffic in the street and rolled out the red carpet for us.
You can see the welcoming committee outside the front door waiting for us. If you think the place is a little over the top, that would be an understatement.
This is the band that entertained us during dinner.
They had a before dinner drink in little glass tubes. I had to try it and found out it was an apple brandy. I don't think I will be buying any to take home!
The next photo is of the ceiling in our dining room.
It's hard to see but there are about a hundred violins hanging from the ceiling. Along with other assorted things. This is only one of many dining rooms.
This is a photo of another dining room.
They have walls and walls of photos of famous people who have eaten there.
They also had these photos on the walls of the men's room. Cindy didn't go into the ladies room. No telling what was on those walls.
We had one last photo op outside the restaurant before we left. We had a great time, enjoyed the dinner and would advise anyone coming to Vienna to give it a try.
