Hiking Above The Tree Line

Our first hike on the Continental Divide was a short drive from our timeshare. We drove to Hoosier Pass and started here.

It was easy to find the trail head and start our hike at an altitude of 11,542. Only problem, the hike was up hill from there.

You can see that we are getting above the tree line with the lakes below us.

We ran into a little leftover snow from last winter.

We found a nice shady spot for lunch!

As we started back down we came back into the start of the tree line again.

The wild flowers were in full bloom.

The hike was only 3 miles but most of it was up hill. So it felt like a looong 3 miles!
