In Search of a Ghost Town

After going on our bike tour of old gold and silver mines our guide told us about a ghost town not far from our timeshare called Mountain Pride. She said it was located off a trail called Baker tank trail.

So off we go on the Baker tank trail to find our ghost town. The weather forecast was for thunder showers in the afternoon. Well we were leaving early enough to be back before the rain. So let's find that ghost town.

The trail started out steep but Mother Nature always provides a resting place for the weary.

Don't worry those clouds don't look threatening!

I'm sure we are going the right way?

Okay we must be getting close. There is a old abandoned mine

As I was saying, don't worry about those clouds. I know we are close.

Cindy what do you mean you think we went too far! :-( I just wanted to show you this beautiful mountainside of wild flowers. We can find our way back to the ghost town.

See I told you we would find it. Besides, look at all the extra steps you got today by our short detour. I knew the town was right next to the abandoned mine we passed an hour ago!

We found it, so let's head back before the thunderstorms arrive.

So the storms with hail came a little early. Those darn weathermen don't know what they are talking about. We had a great 8.3 mile hike that was suppose to be only 4.5. Oh, but we saw same great sights.
