Washington DC

After our visit to New York we drove to Washington DC for a few days. Our first stop was at the Newseum Museum.

It's a museum about how the news media covers the news. The tickets cover a two day entry fee and two days wasn't enough to cover everything in the museum.

It had artifacts from a section of the Berlin Wall.

The story about the Unabomer.

The coverage of the Vietnam war.

Just to mention a few from our modern history. A great museum to visit but leave plenty of time to see it all.

Our next stop was at the Postal Museum of course. It's just a short walk from the Newseum.

One area that I wanted to see was what they had on display about the Postal Inspection Service. I was not disappointed on what was presented.

Our last stop was at the world war ll memorial. We were fortunate to catch a ranger led tour of the memorial. We were the only ones who showed up for the tour. He asked If we wanted the short tour or the more indepth tour. Since we weren't in a hurry we opted for the longer tour. He said it would take about 45 minutes but we ended up spending almost 90 minutes with him and enjoyed every minute.

We had a fantastic few days in DC and are planning to go back to see more.
