Tuesday August 4th we reached our final day in Copenhagen and the Marriott was a great place to use as a base camp to tour the city. The Marriott is one of the newest hotels in Copenhagen built about five years ago right on the waterfront.
We walked to the Central train station and caught the train on the S line for Nordhavn , which is four stops from Central. The local trains are very nice and run every eight minutes and it took us all of eight minutes to reach our stop. You can see Cindy and the flat ones were very comfortable on the train.
Once we exited the train we could see our ship at the port. The walk to the ship took about 10 minutes. The security check took about 10 minutes and checking onto the ship took about 5 minutes. While we were in the security line along side the ship, we heard Ray call down to us from the top deck. There were 3,000 people checking into the ship, and he happened to spot us! (Actually Beth saw us walking up to the ship, and Ray was appointed to get our attention.) We left our hotel at 1:20PM and we were in our stateroom by 2:30PM and of course eating before 2:45PM!
Wednesday August 5th - Our first day at sea. The sea is very calm almost like being on a lake. Cindy and I had breakfast and went to a lecture on Stockholm, our first port of call. We are going to do the touring on our own (I hope we don’t end up with two bikes again J). After the lecture we ventured out to find Sandy, Beth and Ray. We found Ray swimming laps in one of the pools on the ship. He was wearing one of his Phillies’ monogrammed swim suits and must have cleared out the pool!
We went to a second lecture this afternoon. It is for our third port of call, St Petersburg Russia. We are really looking forward to that stop. We will be in St Petersburg for two days and have scheduled professional guided tours for those days (we don’t want to end up in a gulag for being in the wrong place or taking photos of the wrong thing). I did get a photo of the three girls with their mouths almost closed as they walked the deck yakking with each other.
We headed back to our stateroom to get ready for our first formal night dinner and when we got into our room look what we find.
The two of them drinking up our supply of vodka and too soused to go to the formal dinner with us.

Kiwi is sitting in my lap repeating, "Where PopPop go? Where 'Rammi go?" over and over. (She enjoyed seeing the pics of you guys.) Hopefully making this post wasn't too much of an inconvenience and didn't take too much of your time. :D
The vodka was great! We're getting ready for the really good stuff yet to come. Glad you are having a wonderful trip.
Wow, here we sit in 118 degrees eating our hearts out! So glad that you are enjoying!
