Our last port of call before we end our cruise.
CADIZ, SPAIN
3000 year old Cadiz is the oldest city in western Europe. The photo above is of the park they built when they tore down the old wall that protected the city from attack. This happened in the 19th century.
Cadiz was an important ocean port on the Atlantic. Now it is just another seaside resort town.
We took a quick tour of Cadiz then headed to the mountain town of Arcos de la Frontera. It is about a 45 minute bus ride from Cadiz.
Arcos reminded us of some of the villages that we visited in Morocco. It had very narrow streets and alleyways that were laid out haphazardly. Many of the alleyways we thought were for pedestrians ended up being very busy streets.
The black car on the left is going down one of the streets I mentioned above!
As I said earlier the town was located way up in the hills!
Flat John and Flat Mary Ann still found time to sample some of the local cuisine.
