Some of you will be interested in the following information and some will just love it! :-)
When we left from Southampton yesterday we left from the Mayflower Cruise Terminal. This is the same terminal that the ship Mayflower left from on its voyage to America in the 1600’s. Now you know why it is called the Mayflower Terminal.
Last night at the welcome aboard show the Cruise Director told us some facts about the passengers on this cruise. The ship holds a little more than 2,600 passengers. He said more than 2,500 are from Great Britain, although 23 different nations are represented. This is the first cruise that Cindy and I have been on, that US citizens did not make up the majority of the cruise passengers. Also of those 2,600 plus passengers, over 500 are children under the age of 17!
Today was our first of two sea days. We spent part of it doing a three mile walk on the Promenade deck.
Looking at the two photos above it looks like we are on different cruises. I’m dressed for a Caribbean cruise and Cindy’s dressed for an Alaskan cruise. It was windy, cool and overcast (just the way I like it) for our walk.
After our walk Cindy went to a computer class and I went to the main theater for a presentation about one of our ports of call in Spain.
Here the lecturer is talking about the port at Alicante, Spain.
