Today was the big day, we started our Cotswold hike. We were out the door of our B&B at 9 AM for our first leg of our hike.
Our B&B was a little over a half mile from the official start of the trail.
So if you add in the extra half mile and the wrong turn we took later in the day our 10 mile hike was only 13 miles today!
The Cotswold Way is marked with sign posts like the one above and the one below.
Oh but that doesn't mean you will always pick the correct way to go! We were about two miles into the trail, came through a gate like the one below and went right instead of left.
Little did we know that the Cotswold Way circle trail and the Cotswold Way trail go in separate directions. It only took an extra mile on the wrong trail to discover our mistake. What's two more miles when you are doing 102 miles :-).
We passed through farm fields, forested areas, cart paths, roads, and pastures.
What the heck, they must have called out the Calvary because they thought we were lost!
We did make it to a pub for lunch. So we weren't that lost.
There I am eying up tonight's dinner.
Got to our next B&B (above) by 3:30 and are relaxing before our next meal at the local pub of course. Life is good!
