Today's walk was a few miles shorter than yesterday's but more rural. We passed through many more animal pastures, including cows,
horses,
and lots of sheep.
(In the photo above, you can see me leaving a sheep pasture at a 'stile' -- one of the ways walkers enter and exit some of the fields along the trail.)
But one animal we we glad we didn't see, was the bull mentioned on this sign!
The three villages we passed through were tiny, with no pubs (!) but attractive buildings including a 12th century church in Stanway
and the ruins of Hailes Abbey.
To top it off, we couldn't have asked for better weather!
